Edirol's Quartet?

Its a bit slow, and repetive, but it's quite good for experimenting, Keep it up mate!
-Becomes better later, but it took a while to get there :S

Diabolo-ical responds:

I knew someone would say it's repetetive; it IS, but what I was really trying to do was create a backing track for vocals. I thought this track followed the style of Athlete. I think it'd be OK with vocals, IMO (I just couldn't fit that part into the description).

And thanks for another realistic rating :)

Good!

Ok, I love Yngwie Malmsteen's music and this was a really good cover of the song.
I dont really know what to say, you should try to increase the clarity of the song, thats mostly it. :)

Good luck with your next song :)

Thanks for the review man.The reason some parts(mainly the natural harmonics) are quiet is because I get a better acoustic sound when I switch to my neck pickup.Which isn't very good just wait until I get my Evolutions those are going to sound bad ass.

Thanks again.

Sounds eerie.

Ok, I liked the concept, but it got too repetive after a while, but for "playing around" its really really good.

I suggest you continue on orchestral genre, as you did well on it.
But thats only a suggestion.

The start was a bit techno-experimental, but it turned into Goth, Eerie Techno stuff :p

Good combination -Zeth-
Can you please check out my newest orchestral and tell me if i improved ? :)

Diabolo-ical responds:

Thanks. I ended up having to export 5 sections of the song and sequence them in Audition, because quite frequently I end up with high pitched tones, similiar to what you hear when a phone receiving a text message interferes with a stereo.... :S (basically I wasted a lot of time!)

And yes, sure I'll check out your new submissions. Not just to review them but for inspiration (yes, your orchestral skills are inspiration ^_^).

Genious, Made me wanna play mario

You know, i havent played mario since...two years ago or something.
-This was restoring my faith for teh plumber ! Now in a black leather coat and a guitar! :P

-Oh well, Keep up the work man, Even though the drums could have changed a bit after a while :p

speedmetalmessiah responds:

I haven't played mario in a while either I think I've just beaten them to many times.I'm going to start putting together a mario medley if you want to hear this with a bit different drums check that out when I finish it.

Thanks for the cool review man I don't have a leather coat but I want one.

Lets get to it

Im a composer of orchestral myself, using a VSTi for FL called Edirol, and ill tell you the cons and goodies of this song.

- Its rather big file, which annoyes me when i gotta wait ages to hear a single song.
-The start is good, but a bit too long between stuff happening. Reduce the length.
-I'll get bored after hearing the same things alot of times with no variation.

-You got some talent that you should go on with, because orchestral is very much liked with the majority of the people.

Could be some background music, but it doesnt have that much diversity nor dominance for a song that should be used for something else.

Really loved the timpani's.

Diabolo-ical responds:

I like these kind of reviews... thanks. Now I know what I'm improving. This is only my third orchestral though (or is it fourth? ^^)!

And I use the Edirol Orchestral VSTi myself. It's compatible with Making Waves, Ableton Live 5, Logic 5.5 and most other programs, as well as FLoops. It's an excellent piece of kit... hundreds of settings and very realistic samples. My only complaint is it has a lack of ethnic percussion... it'd be great with Japanese drums, Taikos etc.

...thanks for that list, though. I'll stick to what you've said when I make another Orchestral song.

Reminds me of something

But i have no idea what it is.
Anyways, The drums sound a bit cut, so i suggest you use some other soundfont or whatever you use, the guitar sounds real (dunno if it is)
Liked the whole concept and i'm a fan of good ol' happy anime-ish songs! :D

Continue pal! continue with your stuff!

Khuskan responds:

Not suprised you dont recognise it, i'm more suprised when people do. The mario game its the credits music for (super mario land 1, Game boy, 1989) is IMPOSSIBLY hard to beat. You're right in saying the drumps are a bit cut, but i feel thats too small a change to warrent a re-release, so i'll just have to be more careful on my future tracks ;)

Thanks for the review

More dance-ish.

I wouldnt call this trance, but more dance.
Anyways, That was overall a very well created piece, and quite chinese and original.

A bit repetive after a while though and you would get quite bored of the whole thing up and again. You should have a few more "riffs"

I'm not a too big fan of Trance/Dance thing but this was one of the few good ones out there.
You'll get my review and 5/5.

AdmiralConquistador responds:

I guess you're right, this is more dancy in nature, but to me it feels really entrancing, and it's trippy, so I thought it proper to put it in trance. Chinese? Hmm...

Is it repetitive? It has about 4 different parts, so I figured it varied at LEAST once a minute... plus in electronica you need to have some kind of repetition... I don't know I can listen to this song over and over and not get bored. Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed the piece, and I really like your style, you seem to be very proficient at it!

Ok, I promised a review :)

I really couldnt find any flaws in this song, It is in my eyes a good D&B, but its a bit short, and I didnt like the orchestral hit when it starts or ends (not quite sure which part it is)

Its something that i could have in my playlist listening to for some hours before actually changing, so from me you'll get this review, a vote and a download so i can hear it a bit more.

Now for the questions:
What program do you use?
And if fruityloops, what VSTi's?

PERVOK responds:

I use FL 5 producer edition.
As for VSTs, in this song i ued WASP, Slicer, Superwave8 and 3xosc.
thats it.
thanks for the review man!

Better clarity than your rest really.

Im dissy, Because i headbanged too much to this, You're improving Speed, no doubt about that.
and this is actually one of your better/best songs.

Your stuff is kickass as usual, and i think we should do a Orchestral/Metal thing one day :P

-Zeth-

speedmetalmessiah responds:

Hahaha thanks man.I would agree this is my best tune yet.

As far as us doing an Orchestral/Metal collab I'm all for it just e-mail me when you want to do it.That would kick serious amounts of ass. Thanks for the great review man.

O.O

Jeeeezuz :P
Not your best loop, but its still cool :)
You did the drums as well?

And now to turn the question, how long have YOU been playing?

speedmetalmessiah responds:

Thanks glad you liked it.I've had an acoustic for years but I never used to play it then about three or four years ago I started to get into playing.I'm not nearly as good as I should be and I'm lagging when it comes to practicing lately.Although I'm going to learn the rest of Black Star.
